Algorithmic Fairness

The property of AI systems that do not produce systematically biased outcomes for individuals or groups based on protected characteristics. Multiple competing mathematical definitions of fairness exist and cannot always be simultaneously satisfied. Achieving fairness requires careful consideration of the social context in which a system is deployed.
