Explainability
The ability to provide understandable reasons for an AI system's outputs or decisions to relevant stakeholders. Distinct from interpretability: explainability focuses on providing useful post-hoc explanations, while interpretability refers to the intrinsic understandability of the model itself. Required for high-risk AI systems under the EU AI Act.
