Fine-tuning

The process of further training a pre-trained foundation model on a smaller, task-specific dataset to adapt it for a particular application. Fine-tuning allows organisations to customise general-purpose models for their use cases without training from scratch. Fine-tuned models may inherit and amplify biases from both pre-training and fine-tuning data.
