Human-in-the-Loop

A design pattern in which a human is actively involved in the decision-making process of an AI system, typically reviewing and approving AI-generated outputs before they take effect. Required for certain high-risk AI applications under the EU AI Act. Contrasted with human-on-the-loop where humans can intervene but are not required to approve each decision.
