AI systems that are lawful, ethical, and robust throughout their lifecycle. The EU's High-Level Expert Group on AI identified seven key requirements: human agency, technical robustness, privacy, transparency, diversity, societal well-being, and accountability. Trustworthiness requires both the right intentions and technical implementation.
